Following the successful completion of the first set of coursework, taking the mandatory
New York State Education Department (NYSED) exams and workshops, you will be supported in applying for a Transitional B Certification. The program will provide free test prep sessions to help you prepare for certification exams as they become available with our university partners.
TRANSITIONAL B CERTIFICATION
You are required to take the mandatory NYSED exams and workshops to acquire your Transitional B Certification by June 30, 2026.
- To get a Transitional B certificate, you must pass the Educating All Students (EAS)exam and your subject-specific Content Specialty Test (CST) and complete specific workshops.
- Undergo a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check.
- You need an institutional recommendation from your university and a commitment for employment as a teacher of record.
- Our dates supersede your college’s.
